Privacy Notice
This page says what we do with the details you give us: what we collect, who sees them, how long we keep them, and how to have them corrected or deleted.

In short
- We collect what you put in the form, plus the technical details that arrive with any web request. The form never asks for your child's name, date of birth or school.
- Your enquiry goes to one tutoring partner and no one else. We never sell details, we share nothing with advertisers, and we have no mailing list.
- If you mention learning needs or health, we use it only to make the match, and only because you chose to tell us.
- We delete your personal details within two years. If lessons go ahead, your family's name stays on the commission statements we keep with our company accounts.
- No advertising cookies and no trackers from other companies. One optional cookie of our own, and only if you accept it.
- Three suppliers handle data for us, all named here: Cloudflare, Microsoft and Resend.
- You can see, correct or delete your details at any time. Write to privacy@tutornetwork.co.uk. A person answers.
1. Who is responsible for your details
Tutor Network Limited, trading as TutorNetwork, decides how your details are used. In data protection law that makes us the "controller". We are a company registered in England and Wales, number 16713011, at Celtic House, 11-12 Neptune Court, Vanguard Way, Cardiff CF24 5PJ. We are registered with the Information Commission under number ZB991621, which you can check on the public register. For anything about your details, write to privacy@tutornetwork.co.uk.
"Tutoring partner", or "partner", means the independent tutoring company we match you with. Each one is a separate business with its own tutors, its own terms and its own privacy notice, and is always on our Named Partner List. On our landing page we also call them teams. "Partner" is our everyday word. It does not mean a legal partnership: neither of us can make promises or agreements on the other's behalf.
2. What we collect
What you tell us
The level and subjects, anything you write in the details box, your name, email address and phone number, and your tick in the box. The details box is optional. We need the rest to make the match, because the partner needs a reliable way to reach you and a second one in case the first fails. Without them we cannot make a match. The form never asks for your child's name, date of birth or school, and we do not need them.
What arrives with your enquiry
We store the following:
- the date and time;
- your IP address and browser type;
- how you found us: the site that referred you, the first page you landed on, and any campaign or advert tags in its address;
- the identifiers described in section 8;
- the version of the Named Partner List you were shown.
What we add
Whether and when your match was made, any notes we make while handling your enquiry, your replies to our emails, and later whether lessons went ahead.
What comes back from the tutoring partner
So that it can pay our referral fee, the tutoring partner sends us commission statements. They show which of the families we matched are taking lessons: the family's name, the subject and the lessons completed. We see nothing about how the lessons are going.
If you complain
Your name, your email address and what you tell us.
We send you two emails: a receipt when your enquiry arrives, and one to tell you your match is made. We may also email or phone you ourselves about your enquiry. We send no marketing.
3. Why we use your details, and our legal basis

You can object to anything we do on the basis of legitimate interests. Section 9 says how.
4. Learning needs and health
We invite you to mention anything that matters, including learning needs. Information like that can count as health information, which the law protects more strongly.
We only ever have it because you chose to write it. When you write it in the details box and tick "Share my enquiry", you give us your explicit consent to use it for one purpose: making the match. That includes sharing it with the tutoring partner, so that the tutors they suggest suit your child.
You can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to privacy@tutornetwork.co.uk. We will delete that part of your enquiry and tell the partner you have withdrawn it.
You never have to include it. The match works without it, and you can always tell the partner directly instead.
5. Who sees your details
One tutoring partner
We share your enquiry with the one tutoring partner we match you with, from our Named Partner List. It receives your enquiry as you sent it, with your contact details. We share your enquiry for one purpose: so that the partner can reply to it.
The partner is an independent business. Once it has your details it is responsible for them under its own privacy notice, which is on its website. Our email telling you your match is made names the partner. It decides how it contacts you and how long it keeps your details. If you want it to stop, or to delete them, you can tell it directly, or tell us and we will tell it.
Inside TutorNetwork
Your enquiry is read only by the person who makes your match.
Three suppliers, working for us
They handle your details on our behalf, under data processing agreements:
- Cloudflare hosts this site, holds our enquiry database and measurement records, and runs the bot check on the form.
- Microsoft provides our mailboxes.
- Resend sends the automatic emails from this site, including your receipt.
No one else
We do not sell details. We do not share them with advertisers, data brokers or any other tutoring company. The only other time we would disclose anything is if the law required us to.
6. Where your details are held
All three suppliers are US companies, so your details may be handled in the United States. Each is certified under the UK-US data bridge, formally the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The UK government has approved it as giving adequate protection for personal data.
7. How long we keep your details

You can ask us to delete your details sooner. Section 9 says how.
8. Cookies and measurement
We do not use advertising cookies, Google Analytics, session recording or any tracker from another company.
Without cookies, for everyone
We count visits ourselves, and these records hold the following:
- which pages are viewed, how far people scroll and how long each section is on screen;
- which links are clicked and which steps of the form are reached;
- the site that referred you and any campaign tags;
- the type of device and the country.
To tell one visit from another, we make a temporary visit identifier from your IP address, your browser type and a secret key. The key is destroyed the following night. After that nobody, including us, can recreate the identifier. The IP address itself is not stored in these records.
One optional cookie
If you press Accept on the banner, we set one cookie of our own, called tn_vid. It holds a random identifier and lasts up to 13 months. It lets us recognise your browser if you come back, so we can see how returning visitors first found us. If you press Decline, it is not set, and any earlier one is removed. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, and "Cookie choices" at the foot of every page lets you change it.
If you send an enquiry
We store that visit's identifiers with it, so we can see which pages lead to enquiries. They are deleted with the rest of your details.
The bot check
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at technical signals from your browser to confirm that a person is sending it.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you what we hold;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- limit what we do with it;
- give it to you in a form you can take elsewhere.
You can object to anything we do on the basis of legitimate interests. You can also withdraw a consent you gave, for the optional cookie or for learning needs information, at any time. Withdrawing does not undo what was done before. Write to privacy@tutornetwork.co.uk. It costs nothing and we reply within one month. You can use these rights on your child's behalf.
No decision about you is made by a computer. A person reads every enquiry and makes every match.
If you are the student
If a parent or guardian enquired for you, what we hold about you came from them: your level, your subjects and whatever they told us about what you need. These rights are yours too.
Under 18?
The service is for adults. If you are under 18 and have sent us your own details, tell us and we will delete them.
10. Complaints about your details
Tell us first if you can, at privacy@tutornetwork.co.uk or through the form on our Complaints page. A person replies within 5 working days. We aim to give you our answer within 14 days, and if it will take longer we tell you why and when. You can also complain to the Information Commission at ico.org.uk at any time.
11. Changes to this notice
When we change this notice, we change the date at the top. If we ever want to use details you have already given us in a new way, we will tell you first.
